Architectural FAQ
Technical answers for infrastructure professionals.
Architecture & Resilience
Why does TrueDNS use 4 independent provider networks?
Most DNS providers run on a single proprietary anycast network. If that network suffers a routing failure, your domain goes dark. TrueDNS operates 4 authoritative nodes across 4 entirely separate provider backends, ensuring your records remain resolvable even if a major Tier-1 cloud provider fails.
What is the benefit of your Unicast footprint over traditional Anycast?
While massive anycast networks can suffer from "route leaking" and unpredictable latency, our strategic unicast footprint (2x North America, 1x Europe, 1x Singapore) provides dedicated authoritative resolution in key business hubs. This ensures predictable, high-priority routing without the congestion of shared public CDN traffic.
How does TrueDNS guarantee 99.99% uptime?
Our "Zero Single Point of Failure" architecture is the foundation of our SLA. Because our nodes share no common hardware or network backends, the probability of a correlated outage across all 4 providers is statistically near-zero.
The "No Cloud Tax" Model
Why is TrueDNS significantly more affordable than the major cloud providers?
Major cloud providers bundle massive CDN and computing overhead into their DNS pricing. TrueDNS focuses exclusively on lean, high-performance authoritative DNS. By removing "Cloud Tax" bloat and utilizing a flat-network architecture, we pass the infrastructure savings directly to you.
Are there really no query limits or overage charges?
Correct. We believe infrastructure should be predictable. All Professional and Enterprise plans include unlimited query volume, so you never have to worry about "bill shock" during high-traffic events.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe for secure recurring subscription payments.
Technical Precision
How fast does TrueDNS propagate changes?
Global TTL updates propagate across our distributed network in seconds. While ISP caching varies, our authoritative nodes are updated near-instantly upon save.
Is DNSSEC management automated?
Yes. For all paid tiers, we offer one-click DNSSEC activation. We handle the cryptographic signing and automatic key rotation so you can maintain enterprise-grade security without manual complexity.
What are your nameservers?
Our nameservers will be displayed in your dashboard when you create a zone. You'll receive 4 nameservers to configure at your registrar—each hosted on an independent provider network for maximum redundancy.
How do I migrate my DNS to TrueDNS?
- Export your zone from your current provider (BIND format)
- Create a new zone in TrueDNS and import the file
- Verify your records look correct
- Update your domain's nameservers at your registrar to point to our nameservers
- Wait for propagation (usually under 48 hours)
