Getting Started with TrueDNS
Deploy your first redundant zone in under 5 minutes.
1. Create Your Account
Sign up for a TrueDNS account to get started. Our Professional tier offers:
- Unlimited queries
- Provider-independent global network
- Automated DNSSEC signing
Note: No credit card required for the free Personal tier.
2. Create a Zone
Navigate to your Dashboard and click "Add Domain".
- Enter your domain name (e.g.,
example.com) - Click "Create Zone"
- TrueDNS will act as the authoritative source for your domain.
3. Configure Records
Before switching nameservers, ensure your records match your current provider to prevent downtime.
A Record (Root Domain)
| Name | @ |
| Type | A |
| Content | Your Server IP (e.g. 192.0.2.1) |
CNAME Record (Subdomain Alias)
| Name | www |
| Type | CNAME |
| Content | example.com |
4. Activate Redundancy
Point your registrar to all 4 TrueDNS nameservers to activate our provider-independent infrastructure.
TrueDNS Nameservers
- ns1.truedns.io
- ns2.truedns.io
- ns3.truedns.io
- ns4.truedns.io
Deployment Steps:
- Log in to your registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, AWS, etc.)
- Find "Custom Nameservers" settings
- Replace existing values with the 4 servers above
- Save changes
5. Verify Propagation
Use standard terminal tools to verify your zone is live:
$ dig example.com @ns1.truedns.io
$ nslookup example.com ns1.truedns.io
Note: Global propagation depends on ISP caching and can take up to 24 hours.
